Crime fiction authors release new novels in Germany and Austria

The German crime fiction series featuring Inspector Adalbert Ignatius Kluftinger is set to release its 14th volume, titled ‘Blendwerk’, on October 1, 2026. Created by the author duo Michael Kobr and Volker Klüpfel, the series is set in the Allgäu region and has achieved significant commercial success, with total circulation exceeding 4.5 million copies.

In Austria, author and musician Maximilian Eigletsberger has released his fifth crime novel, ‘Schlepper, Berge & Gartenzwerge’. The story follows protagonists Max Werger and Stonie as they investigate a smuggling gang. Eigletsberger, who publishes through Marchtrenker Verlag, integrates his musical work into his books by providing QR codes for readers to download accompanying songs. He is scheduled to present the new book alongside a musical performance in Wels on October 2.
