burglary fraud police impersonation theft Carabinieri

Multiple criminal incidents have been reported across different regions in Italy. In Passo Varano, thieves targeted two adjacent homes on via Luigi Lanzi by breaking garden-facing French windows. Gold jewelry was stolen, and authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from between 18:45 and 19:45, alongside reports of a vehicle with three occupants in a nearby parking lot.

In Montegranaro, a pensioner was defrauded of 14,000 euros through a WhatsApp video call. An individual posing as a police officer, wearing a uniform, convinced the victim that there were irregularities with their bank account and instructed them to transfer funds to a specific IBAN for safety. Carabinieri investigators identified a 43-year-old woman from Campania as the recipient of the funds; she has been charged with fraud.

In the hinterland of Avellino, a series of residential burglaries has caused local concern. Three homes in Aiello del Sabato were entered by thieves who drilled holes in window frames to steal cash and valuables. Additionally, in the Cesinali area near San Rocco Park, thieves reached a third-floor apartment by climbing gas pipes to conduct two separate raids. Carabinieri are investigating these incidents.
