Crime incidents reported in Serbia and Croatia

In Serbia, Đevad Ljutić has shared details regarding a high-stakes hostage situation in Uršini Selo near Novi Most. An armed robber held Ljutić captive for two hours, threatening him with a firearm. The standoff concluded following a major police operation involving 160 officers, helicopters, and drones. Ljutić managed to escape by rushing toward the door during a moment of escalation, prompting the perpetrator to open fire.

Separately, in Croatia, the Zadar Police Administration addressed a viral video showing a police officer throwing a dog into the sea from a patrol boat near Pašman island. The incident occurred during the arrest of a 37-year-old man who was resisting authority. Police stated the dog jumped onto the vessel and was released into the water to prevent the patrol boat from running aground and to mitigate a perceived threat of attack. A municipal officer reportedly took custody of the animal.
