Criminal activities reported in Chile and Argentina involving minors and elderly victims

In Coyhaique, Chile, detectives from the Sexual Crimes Investigation Brigade (Brisex) arrested an Argentine national residing in the country. The individual is accused of paying a 13-year-old girl for intimate audiovisual material. The investigation began after the girl's father discovered messages and bank transfer records indicating the suspect was exchanging money for sexual content and attempting to arrange in-person meetings. Financial analysis confirmed a direct temporal match between the suspect's payments and the transmission of files from the minor's device.

In La Plata, Argentina, two retirees over the age of 70 fell victim to a sophisticated virtual scam. Fraudsters posing as representatives of the company Personal Flow used phone calls and video calls to manipulate the victims into sharing sensitive information and screen-sharing their devices. Through these methods, criminals gained access to bank accounts and digital wallets, successfully stealing more than 20 million pesos from the two women. One victim reported being instructed to transfer funds to a Mercado Pago account under the guise of securing her savings.
