Criminal arrests reported in Colombia and Panama
In San Andrés Isla, Colombia, a judge has ordered the detention of 23-year-old Isaac David Mora Pérez, known as ‘El Peludo,’ in the Nueva Esperanza prison. He is accused of committing a homicide on July 8 in the San Luis neighborhood, where he allegedly shot a 26-year-old homeowner multiple times. The victim died while receiving medical treatment. Investigators believe the attack stemmed from previous disputes between the two men. Mora Pérez was captured on August 19 at Rocky Cay beaches and has denied charges of homicide and illegal possession of firearms.
In Panama, authorities arrested a woman at Tocumen International Airport for her alleged involvement in the embezzlement of funds from the National Council for Sustainable Development (CONADES).
