Criminal cases involving child grooming reported in UK and Australia

Two separate legal cases involving the grooming of minors have been reported in the United Kingdom and Australia.

In Cambridgeshire, UK, 52-year-old David Clark was sentenced to three years and two months at Huntingdon Law Courts. Clark was caught by an online child abuse activist group using a decoy account on Snapchat. He pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity after sending explicit messages and images to an account he believed belonged to a 13-year-old.

In the Australian Capital Territory, 23-year-old Rami Saleh has been remanded in custody following allegations of grooming a 14-year-old girl. Prosecutors allege that over a four-month period, Saleh sent sexual messages via Instagram and Snapchat, provided the minor with alcohol and cash, and hid money in bushes for her to collect. Saleh has pleaded not guilty to charges including grooming a young person and supplying liquor to a minor.
