Criminal incidents reported in Bologna region

Multiple criminal incidents have been reported in the Bologna area, involving both attempted robbery and a sophisticated heist attempt.

In a local gelateria in Bologna, two teenagers approximately 15 years old attempted to steal a cash register. During the incident, the shop owner was attacked with pepper spray. One of the suspects fled after dropping a stolen mobile phone, while the other escaped after the assault. The business owner expressed concerns regarding increasing insecurity in the area, specifically citing issues near the Velodromo park.

In Calderara di Reno, a professional criminal group attempted a highly organized raid on the luxury knitwear manufacturer Nuova Nicol. The group used stolen cars to create a barricade on the main access road to delay law enforcement. The attempt was thwarted by the Carabinieri following a tip from a citizen who noticed the unusual road blockage. Police arrived while the group was forcing entry into the facility.
