Criminal incidents reported in Kaohsiung and Hong Kong
Multiple criminal incidents have been reported in Kaohsiung and Hong Kong. In Kaohsiung, a 52-year-old security guard was arrested at the Kaohsiung Anime Festival for allegedly using a mobile phone to secretly film the undergarments of women, including a 13-year-old. Additionally, a 29-year-old Czech national was apprehended by bystanders and police in the Lingya District for allegedly sexually harassing a woman by hugging her from behind and touching her chest.
In Hong Kong, legal proceedings are ongoing for several distinct cases. A Food and Environmental Hygiene Department inspector is facing charges of common assault after allegedly pulling a 66-year-old female scavenger, causing her to fall. Separately, a West Kowloon court ruled on a fraud case involving the attempted misappropriation of pandemic relief funds. While a father and aunt were acquitted, three other defendants were found guilty of attempted fraud and remain in custody awaiting sentencing.
