Criminal investigations and court cases reported across Iran

Several criminal cases and judicial proceedings are currently being addressed in Iran.

In Tehran, a retrial is underway for a murder that occurred three years ago near Azadi Square. The defendant, who was previously sentenced to death, claimed he acted out of fear during a financial settlement meeting. In a separate incident in the Afsariyeh neighborhood, a man reportedly committed suicide after shooting a neighbor during a dispute over a new residence; the victim remains in a coma.

In Alborz Province, authorities arrested 15 individuals following a motorized and vehicle parade organized for a 61st birthday celebration. Investigators stated the event was commissioned by a specific individual, though the participants claimed they were unaware of the client's political affiliations.

Other legal matters include a dispute between two friends during a trip to northern Iran, where one party alleges he lost his sight due to a punch from the other. Additionally, a court in Tehran is investigating a murder involving a workshop owner. While the primary suspect admitted to the killing, discrepancies exist between his claim of delivering three knife wounds and forensic reports indicating the victim suffered 18 wounds.
