Criminal leader and state agent killed in separate Mexican incidents
In San Luis Potosí, authorities arrested Juan de Jesús “N”, also known as “la Wiwa,” during a coordinated operation involving the State Attorney General's Office, the State Civil Guard, and the National Guard. The 35-year-old is a suspected criminal leader in Tanquián de Escobedo and faces an arrest warrant for qualified homicide. Intelligence suggests he is linked to recent violent events in the Huasteca Potosina region and may have entered from Veracruz to engage in criminal activities.
In Puebla, Juan Jesús Hernández Mariscal, an agent of the State Investigation Agency, was fatally shot in Tehuacán. The agent was performing investigative duties related to vehicle theft in the Tepeyac neighborhood when he was ambushed by two armed individuals. The attackers reportedly fired at least 10 shots at close range before fleeing. Local police and emergency services responded to the scene, where the agent was pronounced dead. Authorities have deployed security cordons and patrols in the area to search for the suspects.
