Sinaloa Cartel: 'El Peli' arrested in Mazatlán and associate detained in Chicago
Federal authorities in Mexico have arrested Jesús Antonio 'N', known as 'El Peli', in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. He is identified as a key logistics and financial operator for the 'Los Chapitos' faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. According to Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Protection of the Citizen, 'El Peli' coordinated the supply, logistics, and management of funds derived from drug sales. He is also linked to cases of illegal deprivation of liberty and is considered a significant generator of violence in the region.
The arrest was part of a coordinated operation involving the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), the Attorney General's Office (FGR), and the National Intelligence Center (CNI). Three other individuals were also detained during the operation. This action occurs amidst a heightened security presence in Sinaloa to combat internal conflicts between cartel factions.
In a separate but related development, U.S. Marshals arrested Rogelio Castro in Chicago, Illinois. Castro is identified as a fugitive associated with the Sinaloa Cartel and was wanted in the Western District of Texas for the distribution of large quantities of cocaine.
