Criminal robberies reported in El Pitillal and Cúcuta

Two separate criminal incidents involving significant theft and armed robbery have been reported in Mexico and Colombia.

In El Pitillal, Mexico, a 28-year-old gas delivery driver for Zeta Gas was intercepted by two armed individuals on a motorcycle. The assailants, dressed in black, threatened the driver with a firearm near the intersection of Avenida Guadalajara and Federación. The victim was forced to hand over approximately 13,400 pesos in cash before the suspects fled the scene. Local police conducted patrols in the area, but no arrests have been reported.

In Cúcuta, Colombia, thieves targeted the Cambios Bayona Joyería pawn shop, stealing an estimated 100 million pesos in gold and silver jewelry and cash. The perpetrators gained entry by breaking through a wall using tools like a hammer and chisel. The business manager, Said Bayona, noted that he had previously received extortion threats and had intended to cease operations in the area due to security concerns. The Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta and the Technical Investigation Body (CTI) are investigating the heist.
