Criminal suspects captured in Colombia and Peru

In Colombia, a joint operation between the National Army and the National Police led to the arrest of an individual known as ‘Macho Rusio’ in the municipality of Cáchira, Norte de Santander. Identified as a member of the ‘Los Pachenca’ criminal structure and specifically the ‘Resistencia Campesina’ faction, the suspect is alleged to be a key urban leader and coordinator of criminal intelligence networks. During the raid, authorities seized four firearms, ammunition, and communication equipment used to coordinate offensive actions against the public and security forces.

In Peru, the National Police have reportedly taken into custody a Venezuelan national known as ‘El Chamo.’ He is a suspected participant in a massacre in Trujillo that involved the kidnapping of mining businessman Jenss Lara Tantaquilla and the murder of four companions. Surveillance footage showed the suspect wearing tactical gear and attempting to flee the scene of the crime. This arrest brings the total number of individuals detained in connection with the incident to 12.
