Criminal trials in Paris and Oran involve jewelry heist and medical fraud
In Paris, Aïssa Bendjaber, a notorious criminal known as the ‘braqueur au borsalino’, is scheduled to stand trial before the assize court on November 9. He and six alleged accomplices face charges related to an armed robbery committed on August 1, 2023, targeting high-end jewelry houses including Chopard and Piaget near Place Vendôme. Bendjaber, 66, has a long criminal history and recently had a request for release denied.
Separately, in Oran, Algeria, a man identified by the initials B-M-A appeared before the El Othmania correctional court. He is accused of practicing medicine without qualification, committing fraud, and selling expired medical products. The defendant reportedly offered alternative treatments such as acupuncture, hijama, and leech therapy, claiming he received training through a Chamber of Commerce certificate.
