Círio de Nazaré 2026 rope arrives in Belém

The 800-meter rope for the 2026 Círio de Nazaré and Trasladação processions has arrived in Belém. Produced in Castanhal, the rope was officially delivered to the Diretoria da Festa de Nazaré (DFN) following a ceremony at the Companhia Têxtil de Castanhal (CTC).

For the fourth consecutive year, the rope has been manufactured entirely within the state of Pará. It is crafted from Amazonian mallow fibers cultivated by family farmers across more than 20 municipalities, involving over a thousand families. The production process took four months of manufacturing following three months of planning, with more than 480 workers participating in the various stages.

The rope is divided into two 400-meter sections, each 60 millimeters in diameter, to be used during the Trasladação and the main Círio procession. The material was received at the Basílica Santuário de Nazaré and will undergo official inspection before the religious events.
