Cristóbal Rodríguez to complete 5,000th consecutive daily drawing

Visual artist Cristóbal Rodríguez Cedano is set to complete his 5,000th drawing on September 18, 2026, in Higüey, Dominican Republic. This milestone marks the conclusion of nearly 14 years of uninterrupted daily creative work.

Since 2012, Rodríguez Cedano has produced one original physical work every 24 hours using techniques such as watercolor, pen, charcoal, and natural dyes like coffee. The small-format pieces, approximately 5 x 5 inches, explore Dominican identity, including endemic fauna and Taíno heritage. The completion event will be held live at the Casa de Arte de Higüey and will be documented in a feature-length film titled ‘5,000 DÍAS’, directed by Ramón Arturo Herrera Rijo.
