Cristian Campestrini sets Chilean football longevity record

Argentine goalkeeper Cristian Campestrini has set a new record as the oldest player to compete in an official Chilean football match. At 46 years and 80 days old, he surpassed the previous record held by former Ferroviarios goalkeeper Raúl Coloma, which had stood for 50 years.

Campestrini achieved this milestone while playing as a starter for Rangers in their victory against Deportes Temuco. Following the match, the veteran goalkeeper expressed his gratitude to the Chilean institutions that have supported him over the last six years and noted that the record serves as a reward for years of effort and sacrifice.

Regarding his future, Campestrini stated he has no immediate plans to retire, expressing a desire to continue playing as long as he maintains his amateur spirit and passion for the game.
