Cristian Castro announces new metal album and Mexico tour

Pop singer Cristian Castro, performing under the alter ego ‘Lügh Draculea’, has announced the upcoming release of the third studio album by his heavy metal and alternative rock group, La Esfinge. The album, titled ‘La Serpiente Emplumada’, is scheduled for release on September 17 and is expected to feature 12 tracks that blend romantic rock tones with themes inspired by Mexico's pre-Hispanic past.

To support the new production, the band—which includes musicians Alexei Torres, David Avilés, Alejandro Carrera, and Raisen Stolden—will embark on a national tour in Mexico. The tour kicks off with performances on December 4 and 5, 2026, at the Pabellón Oeste of the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. Following the Mexico City shows, the tour will move to Monterrey on December 11 and 12, before concluding in Guadalajara at the Teatro Diana on January 15 and 16.

Castro described the new musical direction as a balance between the group's previous works, aiming for a sound that incorporates more commercial elements while maintaining the intensity of doom and progressive metal. The live shows are planned to feature ambitious stage production, including Aztec-inspired scenery and laser effects.
