Cristian Castro to receive Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award

Mexican pop singer Cristian Castro will be honored with the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards. The ceremony is scheduled for October 22 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami and will be broadcast live on Telemundo and Peacock.

The award recognizes Castro’s career spanning more than three decades, during which he achieved six number-one hits on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, including ‘Azul’ and ‘Amor’. Castro expressed his gratitude in a statement, noting that the recognition is a “tremendous honor” and reflecting on the privilege of connecting with audiences through his music.

In addition to receiving the award, Castro will perform a special set of his greatest hits during the gala. He is currently on his ‘Nada solo éxitos’ tour in the United States, which is set to conclude in March. Other honorees for the event include Rosalía, who will receive the Billboard Hall of Fame Award, and Rubén Blades, who will be recognized with the Billboard Icon Award.
