According to predictions from Variety, the film could receive nominations in up to five major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Original Screenplay, International Feature Film, and Best Actress for Renate Reinsve.

Filmed primarily in Norway, ‘Fjord’ is a social drama that explores cultural and social tensions within an isolated community. The production features a multilingual cast speaking English, Norwegian, Swedish, and Romanian. The Romanian Ministry of Culture has included the film on its list of strategic projects to be supported during the Oscar campaign.
