Cristian Tello recalls Guardiola's anger over 2012 Clásico lineup leak

Retired footballer Cristian Tello has shared recollections of the tension within FC Barcelona prior to the Clásico on April 21, 2012. In an interview with RAC1, the 35-year-old former winger described how manager Pep Guardiola was visibly angry because the team's starting lineup had been leaked to the public before the match against Real Madrid.

Tello noted that while the team trained at Camp Nou in the morning, the formation was leaked during the lunch hour. This caused Guardiola to begin his pre-match talk with a confrontational tone, emphasizing the need for the squad to act as a unified ‘family’ and demanding that the person responsible for the leak be identified.

During that specific match, Tello and Thiago Alcántara were named in the starting eleven. Barcelona ultimately lost the game 1-2 to the José Mourinho-led Real Madrid, a result that significantly aided Real Madrid's pursuit of the La Liga title.
