Cristian Vélez named new lead singer of La Banda del Aventurero
Cristian Vélez has been selected as the new lead vocalist for La Banda del Aventurero, the musical group that previously accompanied the late Colombian popular music singer Yeison Jiménez.
Vélez was chosen following a national selection process conducted through the reality show ‘La Banda del Aventurero’. The search, which began on July 8, involved hundreds of participants. The final decision was made by band members and individuals close to Jiménez.
The musical group decided to continue its project following the death of Yeison Jiménez, who passed away in an aviation accident on January 10. Vélez, an artist from Antioquia with experience in ranchera, vallenato, and norteña music, aims to preserve the group’s musical legacy while establishing his own identity on stage.
