Cristiano Bergodi commits to remaining as U Cluj manager

Italian coach Cristiano Bergodi has confirmed he will remain at the helm of U Cluj following discussions with club president Radu Constantea. The decision follows a period of uncertainty regarding his future due to recent team results and previous tensions within the club.

Bergodi, 62, marked his first year with the team on October 23, 2025. During his tenure, he has led the club to a second-place finish in the Superligă, a Romanian Cup final, and qualification for European competitions. Under his management, the team has recorded 25 wins, six draws, and 15 losses across 46 matches.

The primary objective for the upcoming period is to ensure U Cluj reaches the Superligă play-offs. Bergodi noted that while there have been difficult moments, he maintains confidence in his work and his relationship with the club leadership.
