Cristiano Ronaldo demanded teammates be paid before his own salary at Al-Nassr

Former Al-Nassr defender Álvaro González has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo insisted the club settle outstanding player debts before paying his own salary upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia in January 2023.

González, who played for the club during the 2022-2023 season, stated that he and several other teammates had gone six months without receiving pay. While González noted he was not personally worried due to career savings, he emphasized that the players had moved to the country to earn money.

According to González, once Ronaldo became aware of the arrears, he told management: “Until these people receive their salaries, I'm not going to receive anything.” González added that Ronaldo also took an active interest in the daily welfare of his teammates, inquiring about their needs regarding medical staff and general comfort.
