Cristiano Ronaldo says his son prefers Mbappe, advises Real Madrid on his role

In an interview Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that his son Mateo watches videos of Kylian Mbappé on YouTube and tells him the French forward is better than Ronaldo. Ronaldo responded by noting his own higher goal tally and reminded his son that Mbappé missed a penalty in a match, to which Mateo replied, “You missed one too.”

Ronaldo advised Real Madrid that Mbappé should not be used as a traditional central striker but should operate on the left side to exploit his speed and space. He offered to share his own experience to help Mbappé develop in a role that maximises his qualities. Ronaldo highlighted Mbappé’s recent record of 42 goals in 44 games across all competitions last season, adding seven assists, and his international tally of 66 goals in 106 appearances for France. He also noted Mbappé’s previous clubs Monaco and Paris Saint‑Germain before joining Real Madrid.
