Cristiano Ronaldo scores in sixth World Cup, first to do so

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal defeated Uzbekistan 5‑0, becoming the first player to register a goal in six different FIFA World Cup tournaments, surpassing Lionel Messi's record of five editions. The win moved Portugal to the top of Group K and set up a decisive Group match against Colombia on 27 June.

Ronaldo is also popularly known as “El Bicho,” a nickname coined by Spanish commentator Manolo Lama because of the player’s physical power and intimidating presence on the field. The moniker has become widely used by fans and media worldwide.
