Cristiano Ronaldo's strict diet and record World Cup run highlighted as he exits 2026 tournament

At 41, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo maintains a disciplined diet centred on vegetables, lean proteins such as fish, chicken, eggs and low‑fat meat, whole‑grain carbs like brown rice and sweet potatoes, and healthy fats from olive oil and nuts. Chef Giorgio Barone, who worked with him at Juventus, says Ronaldo avoids processed foods, added sugar, milk and flour‑based products, preferring fresh, minimally processed ingredients and early dinner times.

Ronaldo's physical condition allowed him to feature for Portugal in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Dallas, where the team lost 0‑1 to Spain in the round of 16, marking his final World Cup appearance. He became the first male player to play and score in six different World Cups, finishing his international career with 146 goals in 233 matches – the all‑time record for a men's national side – and three senior titles (Euro 2016, Nations League 2018‑19 and 2024‑25).
