Cristiano Ronaldo's fitness and role affirmed as Portugal prepares for World Cup

Longevity experts who examined Ronaldo during a smart‑watch presentation said his biological age is about 29 years, roughly 11.5 years younger than his chronological age of 41, attributing his condition to strict daily routines, regular sleep, high step counts and advanced recovery methods such as compression and cryotherapy. His long‑time trainer Iván Perujo highlighted Ronaldo’s 24‑hour discipline, extra training sessions and constant monitoring as key to his continued competitiveness.

Portugal’s new manager Jorge Jesus, appointed after the team’s knockout defeat by Spain, stressed that Ronaldo will never be a problem for the national side. Calling the striker a symbol of Portuguese football, Jesus said he will keep selecting Ronaldo while the player remains fit, noting that the 41‑year‑old has indicated he may retire after the 2026 World Cup. The coach’s comments come as Portugal prepares for future tournaments, including the co‑hosted 2030 World Cup with Spain and Morocco.
