Cristina Gutiérrez joins Santana Racing Team for Dakar preparation

Cristina Gutiérrez has signed as an official driver for the Santana Racing Team, marking a significant move for the Spanish off-road brand. The 2024 Dakar Challenger category winner will pilot the Santana Pick-Up T1+ alongside new co-driver Marc Solà.

Gutiérrez is scheduled to debut in the Santana vehicle at the Baja España-Aragón from September 11 to 13 in Teruel. Following this, the team will compete in the Rally of Morocco from September 26 to October 3, serving as a critical preparation phase for the 2027 Dakar Rally.

The announcement coincided with the inauguration of the Santana Pamplona dealership. Santana Motors CEO Edu Blanco noted that Gutiérrez succeeds adventurer Jesús Calleja in the driver's seat, though Calleja remains with the company as a sports director.
