Cristopher Sánchez leads MLB in wins after Phillies victory

With this victory, Sánchez broke a tie with Boston Red Sox pitcher Sonny Gray to claim the outright lead in MLB wins. He is the first Phillies pitcher to lead the league in wins since Steve Carlton achieved 23 victories in 1982.

The Phillies' offense was supported by a three-run triple from Justin Crawford and two RBIs from Luis Arráez. The win helps Philadelphia maintain its position in the National League wildcard race, sitting in third place.

For the Mets, rookie Jonah Tong took the loss after allowing four runs in 4 2/3 innings. The Mets finished the season with a 36-45 home record at Citi Field, their worst since 2013, and saw a significant decline in average attendance compared to the previous year.
