Cáritas de Venezuela provides aid to 29,000 families after earthquakes
Cáritas de Venezuela continues its humanitarian assistance efforts nearly three months after the earthquakes that occurred on June 24. According to its ninth operational bulletin, the organization has received 23,624 tons of supplies and distributed 20,434 tons, representing 87% of the total collected material.
The relief program has directly reached 29,209 families through the delivery of 17,041 food kits and 12,168 personal hygiene packages, benefiting an estimated population of between 116,836 and 146,045 people. Additionally, 109,100 units of medicine and medical supplies were dispatched, supported by approximately 10,000 volunteers. Aid has extended to remote areas such as Morón in Carabobo and La Colonia Tovar in Aragua.
Private sector support has been instrumental, including an alliance with Grupo Amanecer for annual food donations and cooperation from the Italian Embassy. Industrias Iberia has also joined the ‘Fuerza Venezuela’ campaign organized by Cáritas, contributing to the preparation of approximately 25,000 food rations for affected families. The operation is now transitioning into a long-term recovery phase focused on housing, health, livelihoods, and psychosocial assistance.
