Cáritas drives collect aid in Spain and Argentina
In Vila‑real, Spain, the Virgen del Carmen school organized a solidarity campaign on June 3. Students from preschool, primary and secondary levels set up collection points in the school and visited local supermarkets, gathering large quantities of hygiene products such as shampoo, body wash, detergents, diapers and toilet paper. The donated items will be handed to Cáritas Interparroquial de Vila‑real for distribution to families in need.
In Argentina, Cáritas 9 de Julio began its annual house‑to‑house collection on June 6, deploying 90 routes, around 80‑90 vehicles and more than 300 volunteers. The drive focuses on non‑perishable food and cash donations, coinciding with the Corpus Christi celebrations and the organization’s 70th anniversary. A second collection of money will occur on June 7 during a mass, with additional contributions possible via bank transfer.
