Cáritas Gandia inaugurates new Sarsalé Program facilities
Cáritas Gandia has inaugurated new facilities for the Sarsalé Program, a socio-educational initiative dedicated to supporting children and adolescents from the Roma community. The opening ceremony, held on September 24, brought together minors, families, professionals, and institutional representatives.
Program coordinator Laura Ortiz stated that a primary goal for the new term is to increase family involvement, transforming the space into a meeting point where parents can share, learn, and participate. During the event, children participated in an activity titled ‘Sarsalé para mí es…’ (Sarsalé to me is...), creating a mural that highlighted values such as respect, friendship, trust, and play.
Launched in February 2026, the Sarsalé Program is funded by the European Social Fund and the Generalitat Valenciana. The project focuses on fostering autonomy, conflict resolution, and coexistence, working in coordination with municipal social services and several local educational centers, including Joan Martorell and San Francisco de Borja.
