Global mining sector reports significant mineral discoveries and production progress
Several mining companies have reported significant exploration and production updates across different commodities and regions.
Viking Mines has reported visual scheelite intercepts at its Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, marking the first drilling at the site in 40 years. The company identified multiple zones of disseminated scheelite mineralisation through ultraviolet light fluorescence. Assay results are expected in four to six weeks.
In Canada, Manhattan Gold Corporation announced a high-grade gold intercept of 41.15 metres at 4.66 g/t gold at its Hook Lake project in Nunavut. The results suggest the presence of high-grade shoots within a larger mineralised system.
Lindian Resources is nearing production at its Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi. The company expects first production in the fourth quarter of 2026, with mining operations currently ramping up and infrastructure nearing completion.
Augustus Minerals is launching a new reverse circulation drilling program at its Music Well gold project near Leonora, Western Australia. The campaign aims to test a refined geological model to better intersect potential high-grade gold veins.
