Critical Security Patches Issued for SvxLink Amateur Radio Software and Samsung Galaxy Phones

The SvxLink project, a widely used open‑source software for amateur‑radio relay control, released version 26.05.1, closing fourteen vulnerabilities, two of which are rated critical with a CVSS score of 9.8. The most severe flaw resides in the EchoLink directory service and could allow remote code execution without authentication. Users of SvxLink, especially those running relay stations on Raspberry Pi devices in Germany, are urged to update immediately.

Samsung Electronics has also rolled out a July security update for 26 Galaxy smartphones and tablets, addressing roughly 60 flaws, including five critical vulnerabilities that can be exploited via crafted images to execute code or gain system privileges. The patch, sized around 400 MB, is being distributed model‑by‑model and country‑by‑country, with the latest devices such as the Galaxy S26 series and various A‑series models now covered. Users are advised to install the update as soon as it appears on their devices.
