The leadership of Nagyvárad-based Crișul SK has addressed the termination of its water polo cooperation with Egyetem SK. Club director Pető Dalma and sports expert Cosmin Goina stated that the previously successful partnership, which aimed to retain young athletes within the local university system, collapsed following the appointment of Antonio Alexandrescu.

Since 2021, Crișul SK has grown from fewer than 100 athletes to over 500. The water polo section, which previously operated with limited teams, benefited from the 2022 agreement with Egyetem SK by providing players with pathways to adult competition and university-level facilities.

In separate sports news, Ferencváros (FTC) player Aleksandar Cirković is set to join the Polish club Jagiellonia Białystok on loan. The 24-year-old Serbian winger, who recorded six goals and five assists in the Polish league last season, chose Jagiellonia due to their qualification for the Europa League.
