CRJE pledges support for Tanzania’s Vision 2050 at Dar es Salaam forum

At the Phoenix Global Development Forum for Enterprises–Tanzania held in Dar es Salaam on October 3, 2026, China Railway Construction Engineering (East Africa) Limited (CRJE) pledged its support for Tanzania’s National Development Vision 2050.

Jiang Yuntao, Chairman of CRJE (E. A) Ltd and the Chinese Enterprise Association in Tanzania (CEAT), emphasized the company’s long-standing history in the country, which dates back to 1969 during the construction of the Tanzania–Zambia Railway (TAZARA). The forum, co-organized by Phoenix TV and CEAT, brought together approximately 100 representatives from government, business, and academia.

Key attendees included Tanzania’s Minister of State for Planning and Investment, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, the UNDP Resident Representative, and the Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania. The discussions focused on leveraging sectoral strengths to realize the goals of Vision 2050, following recent milestones such as the TAZARA revitalization project.
