Croatia advances to World Cup round of 16 after 2‑1 win over Ghana

Croatia defeated Ghana 2–1 in the final group match of the FIFA World Cup, securing second place in Group L and a spot in the round of 16. Nikola Vlašić opened the scoring in the 17th minute, followed by Petar Sučić’s finish from 25 metres in the 31st minute. Ghana equalised through Derrick Luckassen in the 78th minute, but Vlašić headed the winner in the 83rd minute.

The victory placed Croatia ahead of Ghana and meant the team will face the runner‑up of Group K in the next knockout round. England topped the group by beating Panama, while Ghana moves to the knockout‑stage play‑offs.
