Croatia agricultural land prices rise significantly

Agricultural land prices in Croatia have seen a significant increase over the past year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS). The average price for purchased arable land reached 6,723 euros per hectare, representing a rise of 758 euros compared to the previous year.

Other types of agricultural land also experienced price hikes. The average price for purchased pasture land rose by 2,859 euros to 6,893 euros per hectare, while meadow land prices increased by 1,198 euros to an average of 4,280 euros per hectare.

Regional variations were notable. In Adriatic Croatia, arable land prices saw a sharp increase of 2,746 euros, reaching 9,401 euros per hectare. In Pannonian Croatia, arable land averaged 7,073 euros per hectare, an increase of 842 euros. In Northern Croatia, the average price for arable land was 5,356 euros per hectare, up 413 euros from the prior year.

The DZS noted that these figures are based on administrative data from the Ministry of Finance - Tax Administration and specifically cover land used for agricultural purposes. The statistics exclude the value of any buildings on the land and transfers between relatives.
