Croatia Airlines Adds Tenth Airbus A220, First in Star Alliance Livery
Croatia Airlines received its tenth Airbus A220-300 in Zagreb, marking the latest step in the airline’s largest fleet‑renewal programme. The aircraft, registered as 9A‑CAS and named Velika Gorica, is the first A220 worldwide painted in the Star Alliance visual identity.
The jet was delivered directly from Airbus’s factory in Mirabel, Canada. It seats 149 passengers and is the third of seven A220s scheduled for delivery in 2026, with a target of 15 new A220s in the fleet by 2027. President Jasmin Bajić highlighted the delivery as a key milestone in the airline’s transformation, while Star Alliance’s Renato Ramos and Airbus Europe president Johan Pelissier congratulated Croatia Airlines, noting the aircraft’s symbolic value for the partnership and its expected contribution to tourism and the national economy.
