Croatia Airlines expands fleet with two new Airbus A220s

Croatia Airlines has expanded its fleet with the arrival of two new Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The planes, named ‘Karlovac’ and ‘Sisak’, arrived in Zagreb on October 2 and October 3, respectively.

Both aircraft are configured with 149 passenger seats. With these additions, the national carrier now operates a total of 13 Airbus A220 aircraft, consisting of 11 A220-300 models and two A220-100 models. This expansion is part of a strategic fleet modernization project aimed at replacing older aircraft, including the Airbus A319, which is scheduled to be phased out by October 2026.

The airline plans to continue its modernization through 2027, with a total of 15 Airbus A220 aircraft expected in the fleet by the end of that year. The final two aircraft are expected to be named ‘Varaždin’ and ‘Vinkovci’.
