Croatia allocates nearly €5 million for 320 local sport programmes in 2026

The Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sports, led by Minister Tonči Glavina, approved funding of almost €5 million for 320 local sport programmes in 2026. €4.3 million will support 275 programmes that promote community sport and competitions, while €609,461 will fund 45 "Hrvatska pliva" non‑swimmer training programmes.

Since 2016 the ministry has invested around €25 million in similar initiatives, benefiting over 1,700 clubs and more than 720 000 participants. The latest allocation aims to broaden access to amateur sport and health‑focused exercise, especially for children and young people, and to continue developing sports infrastructure across Croatia.
