Croatia and Hungary discuss defense cooperation and regional security
Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić met with Hungarian Minister of Defense Romulusz Ruszin-Szendij in the border town of Lentije. This meeting marks the first bilateral encounter between the two ministers following political changes in Hungary.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation, specifically regarding the potential for collaboration between their respective defense industries. Minister Anušić presented Croatian defense companies and products to the Hungarian side. Both officials emphasized a shared interest in maintaining stability in Southeast Europe.
During the meeting, Anušić raised concerns regarding the security situation in the region, noting that Serbia is undergoing significant armament with offensive systems, including Chinese hypersonic missiles with a range exceeding 400 kilometers. Anušić also extended an invitation to the Hungarian minister to attend the ASDA international arms exhibition in Zagreb in April 2027.
