Croatian gas operator Plinacro and Hungarian operator FGSZ have signed a joint statement to double the capacity of the Drávaszerdahely‑Donji Miholjac interconnection from 200,000 to 400,000 standard cubic metres per hour. The increase will take effect after the Bosiljevo‑Sisak and Sisak‑Kozarac pipelines are completed, scheduled for the end of 2026.
The expanded corridor will strengthen the Krk LNG terminal’s role as a supply hub for Central Europe, give Hungary greater flexibility and reduce reliance on traditional eastern pipeline gas. It also improves regional supply security and could support additional north‑bound flows to Slovakia and other connected markets.
Both operators highlighted the project’s contribution to diversification, market resilience and the broader European energy network.
