Croatia and Serbia Conduct Major Military Aviation Selections and Officer Promotions

In Zemunik, Croatia, the air force conducted a selection flight for 24 candidates for the 35th and 36th cohorts of military pilots, marking the highest turnout in the past 26 years. The candidates began theoretical training on June 29 and started practical flights on July 8 using ZLIN 242 L trainer aircraft; the process is slated to finish on August 28. The surge in interest follows the acquisition of new Rafale fighter jets and UH‑60M Black Hawk helicopters for the Croatian Air Force.

In Serbia, the Ministry of Defence announced intensified overflights of military aircraft over Belgrade as part of preparations for a ceremony on July 25 to promote the newest officers. Cadets of the 147th class of the Military Academy and the 12th class of the Military Medical Academy will be commissioned at the General Jovan Mišković barracks, with performances by the Defence Ministry’s musical ensembles.
