Croatia and Serbia Enact Major Legislative Reforms in Transport and Weapons Sectors

The Croatian Chamber of Crafts welcomed the adoption of amendments to the Law on Road Transport by the Croatian Parliament, noting measures such as vehicle‑specific licences, standardised registration plates, a price cap for autotaxi services and stricter oversight of digital platforms. The changes are aimed at increasing market transparency, passenger safety and fair competition for autotaxi operators.

In Serbia, the Ministry of Justice announced that a new Law on Weapons and Ammunition is expected to be passed in July. The draft separates illegal possession and carrying of firearms from illicit production and trafficking, aligns the criminal code with international conventions and introduces special sentencing provisions for repeat offenders. The legislation is part of Serbia’s broader reform agenda and awaits feedback from the European Commission.
