Croatia and Slovenia Expand Rural Medical Access with Mobile Units

The health authority of Koprivnica-Križevci County in Croatia will soon deploy a mobile ambulance to the Đurđevačko area, offering primary‑care services such as examinations, basic diagnostics and family‑medicine visits. The vehicle, equipped like a regular clinic, will follow a set schedule in July 2026, visiting villages including Novo Virje, Severovci, Grkine, Sveta Ana, Mičetinac, Čepelovac, Budrovac, Sirova Katalena and Suha Katalena.

In Slovenia, the health centres of Laško and Radeče have signed an agreement to provide faster emergency medical assistance. From 1 July, an ambulance with two responders will be on standby daily between 07:00 and 19:00 in Radeče, staffed by a team of 23 trained personnel. The arrangement shortens response times for the municipalities of Radeče, Laško and surrounding settlements, improving coverage and availability of urgent care, according to ZD Laško director Ingrid Mastnak.
