Croatia announces nine measures to support agricultural sector
Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, David Vlajčić, has introduced nine new measures to support the national agricultural sector. The package consists of four proposed programs and five proposed regulations, which will soon undergo public consultation.
Key initiatives include a 10 million euro program for 2026 aimed at the construction, reconstruction, and equipping of storage capacities for cereals and oilseeds. This measure is intended to help farmers manage income more effectively by allowing them to delay sales until after the harvest.
Other measures address specific challenges facing various sectors, including aid for those affected by natural disasters, compensation for bee mortality, genetic improvements in livestock, and continued support for the pig farming sector due to African swine fever. The plan also includes enhanced support for young farmers and adjusted conditions for certified seeds and seedlings.
