Croatia announces sale of 25 state-owned properties in Zagreb and other cities

The Croatian state has launched its fourth public tender of the year for the sale of state-owned real estate. The offering includes 25 properties located in Zagreb, Slavonski Brod, and Varaždin, consisting of 13 apartments, ten garages, business premises, and a garage.

In Zagreb, 14 properties are available, including 12 apartments. Prices for these units vary significantly based on location and condition. The lowest starting price for a Zagreb apartment is 25,500 euros for a 22-square-meter basement unit on Ivana Broza Street, which is noted to be in poor condition without electricity, water, sewage, gas, or heating connections. Other small apartments in central locations are priced higher, with some 15 to 17-square-meter units starting at over 52,000 euros.

The most expensive apartment in Zagreb is located on Ugljanska Street, priced at 119,000 euros for 40.25 square meters. Most of the properties require renovation or additional investment. These assets are being sold via public tender because they do not meet the criteria for rental, lease, or affordable housing programs. Interested bidders must submit offers by November 13, 2026.
