Regional social and economic support programs launched in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia

Various local governments and regional authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia are implementing social and economic support programs.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the city of Derventa has announced a public competition to award 10 free land plots to young married couples under 35 to assist with housing. In Kalesija, over 218,000 KM has been allocated for infrastructure projects, including public lighting and bridge reconstruction. In Vitez, contracts worth over 200,000 KM were signed for construction materials to help 15 families rebuild homes, though officials noted the project was smaller than the originally planned 600,000 KM due to administrative issues.

In Croatia, several initiatives focus on education and youth. Fužine and Karlovac counties have opened calls for student scholarships to support high schoolers. The municipality of Sveti Đurđ is subsidizing transport costs for high school students, while Novigrad is providing 100% coverage for weekly travel costs for students living away from school. Additionally, Krapinsko-zagorska County awarded over 35,000 EUR for youth-led projects. The Croatian government has also implemented measures to keep student meal prices stable at 0.86 EUR through 2027.

Other regional updates include the allocation of 450,000 EUR to support traditional and artistic crafts in Croatia, and reports of significant agricultural damage in Croatia's Vukovar-Srijem County due to drought.
